Sound Journeys of Dorset by Cabinet of Living Cinema is an immersive audio work that transforms Purbeck’s quarries and coastal landscape into a richly textured sonic experience, blending field recordings, voices, and subtle storytelling to evoke a deep sense of place. Drawing on real encounters with the environment through the perspectives of those who work, explore, and inhabit it, the piece moves beyond traditional narrative to create a poetic soundscape that invites listeners to travel through Purbeck by ear. The soundworld is shaped by live instrumentation including slide guitar, banjo and mbira performed by Tim Karp, flamenco guitar and viola by Kieron Chissik, and hammer dulcimer by Rob Parkinson, with production and recording by Sarah Cuddon, and further contributions from Paul Hyland & James Wilkes (poems), Nick (climber), Brian (wild gardener), Nobby (stone carver) and  other Purbeck folk.
