This Halloween Season, be immersed in horror with a live & original musical score to FW Murnau’s Expressionist masterpiece – Nosferatu: A Symphony of Horrors (1922) – the birth of the vampire movie, remade by Robert Eggers in 2024.
Join composers Kieron Chissik and Caelia Lunniss (The Enchanted Cinema) for their original score – first performed at LSO St. Luke’s and inspired by diverse influences including Ennio Morricone and Nordic and Balkan folk music on violin, violectra, gong, autoharp, chimes, organ and other ethereal sound FX, bringing to life some of the most ground-breaking scenes of cinema history – the “ruinenlust” journey across the mountains to Count Orlok’s castle, the wildly innovative castle interior, the epic Ship of Death sequence, Ellen drawn into the night winds by the approaching horror and of course Max Schreck’s famously verminous performance as the vampire. Following the performance, the audience are invited to meet the performers and take a turn on the instruments. Programme supported by Film Hub London, managed by Film London.
